Latvia Mission 2007 |
Well, after all the preparations, fund raising, collecting items to take, making travel arrangements and hotel arrangements, we give thanks that almost everything went smoothly.
Who went and did what?
The morning sessions.
Pam, Sarah B, Sarah H, Terry H & CJ worked with the 4 - 10 year olds.
Their group saw about 40 been the average attendance. Over the 5 days, a different theme was explored and some great creations were made.
A great time was had by all.
Craig, Carole and Jennie worked with the 11 upwards.
Their group saw an average attendance of 20.
Again, each day a different theme was looked at and some excellent creations were made.
The group bonded really well and well trust that seeds were planted.

Gill floated between groups, stepping up to the mark the day Carole fell ill and then the day Craig went to the hospital after his accident. Thank you, Gill.
| The afternoon sessions. |
The teams went out visiting different places in Latvia, including a children's home, the puppet teams put on multiple performances, Craig and Carole were out playing sports and getting to know the older kids.
| The evening sessions. |
On an evening, two events were arranged for older children, this included a BBQ.
English classes.
Alan & Les ran English classes (which happened to be all female) during the morning and also the evening too. These were well attended and great progress was seen.
Challenge Anneka...well Peter & Gareth.
Peter & Gareth, their challenge was to convert an open room into a toilet and shower room in 5 days…(imagine challenge Anneka music now playing)
They both really stepped up to the mark, and this work was complete within 5 days…a huge well done guys!!!
