Its...OCTOBER!!!

Dear Friends,

Is there anything in your past which keeps coming back to haunt you? You know what I mean don't you? Some past indiscretion, maybe in your youth or later in life which people will just not let you forget Maybe it's something you did in your married life and your partner just will not let it go even though it might have been years ago. How often have you heard the quotation "Well, a leopard can't change its spots".

Well, I have news for you if you are haunted by past troubles which just keep on coming back and biting you. Remember one thing - with God a leopard can change its spots - in fact it can have all the spots and blemishes wiped away completely. A wonderful verse in the Bible states that it matters not what we have done in the past; when we come to Christ our sin is forgiven and, as it says in Jeremiah 31:34, "No longer will a man teach his neighbour, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD', because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest" declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

And in the New Testament it states in Hebrews 10:16-17, "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." Then he adds, "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."

Isn't that a great promise from God? We might be often reminded of our faults of the past from those we know. People might forever want to hurt us with those words "I remember when you did this or that". But, my friends, rest assured that with God there are no memory bands. He has chosen through his love for us to blot out the past for all those who are in Christ. "I will remember their sin no more."

As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"

Don't fret so much about the past - focus on the here and now and the future, committing all your ways to Him who has the power to forgive and forget.

Your friend and Minister

TERRY.
