The Minister Rambles...

Dear Friends
You know when you read the New Testament, especially the letters, you find the church going through some amazing challenges. Sometimes they came through those challenges with a smile on their faces and sometimes with blood on their faces. And sadly at times it is clear that they did not survive the challenge. That got me wondering what challenges lie ahead for us as a church.
Are we going to face persecution for our faith? I doubt it. Are we going to be asked to die for our faith? Don't think so, do you? Do you know what the biggest challenge is that faces us at the moment? Well the biggest challenge is our forthcoming mission with Barry
Woodward.
The challenge is to invite non Christian friends to the meeting on the Saturday night. That's easy, you might think. But you know, Christians find it so hard to invite friends to Christian events. And nobody knows why.
Are we ashamed of Christ? Are we ashamed of the church?
Are we terrified they might meet the Minister (me!) very scary?
So, my friends, I would like to challenge everyone in the run up to the mission in September to pluck up the courage to invite someone to come along. Maybe you can invite several people.
But if everybody brought just one person to the mission we would fill St. George's and then God can work wonders in their hearts.
Remember, whatever challenges come our way, the one important truth is;
"We can do all things through Christ Jesus
who gives us strength."
Your friend and Minister,
TERRY.
